A History of Success

New Wave Surgical Corp. was founded in 2004 as a premier medical device development company. We design, patent and market medical devices for laparoendoscopic surgical markets. Our goal is to provide innovative products that not only assist surgeons, nurses and surgical technicians, but also enhance their ability to provide improved patient care.

Our first exciting innovation was D-H.E.L.P.®–the only endoscopic visualization system that keeps the laparoscopic lens defogged and clean from the start of surgery to close. Development of D-H.E.L.P. was accomplished with the participation of leading surgeons, surgical residents, and operating room staff. FDA 510k clearance was received for D-H.E.L.P. in October, 2006 and the product was commercially launched in October, 2007. Our Laparoscopic Care Kit containing D-H.E.L.P. was our first release. It had broad appeal and was used by surgeons across all types of laparoscopic and robotic procedures.

In September, 2008, D-H.E.L.P. was named Innovation of the Year at the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons Annual Meeting. Today D-H.E.L.P. has already been used in over 200,000 laparoscopic procedures and sales are growing rapidly. New Wave Surgical has experienced a reorder rate by hospitals of over 90%.

Significant progress has been made at New Wave Surgical to prepare us for an aggressive expansion of our sales and marketing efforts.  We now have distributors that represent our products across the U.S. In June, 2010 we also received ISO 13485 certification and CE Marking which make our products available for sale globally.

New Wave Surgical has been granted three U.S. patents with two U.S. patents and four international patents pending. Moreover, New Wave Surgical has five trademarks issued or pending in addition to CE Marking.

New Wave Surgical anticipates bringing additional new products to the marketplace that will enhance laparoscopic visualization, improving surgical procedures and positively impacting the health of surgery patients across the globe.
